Water Quality Sampling Program • Dedicated partners planning meeting hosted by CVRD and led by Deb Epps – May 14 • Partners organized and sampling schedules being devloped • Finalized analysis and interpretation of data collected in 2012 including metals. • VIHA implementing regular sampling at a number of “swimming sites” weekly or bi-monthly for the course of the summer (initial results favourable) • Continued work on communications
“Land Use Visits” • Continued “relationship building” visits by TAC/Board members and local • Farmers community meeting scheduled for June 19 at the Hub. • Participation from local experts and outside talent (Washington state) • Opportunity to further cooperative relationship • Goal of developing action items for moving forward together
Broadway Run Stabilization Project • CSRT to take lead on project implementation • Expressions of interest from potential government and EGNO funders • Next step evaluating options as per KWL report, selecting most feasible option and developing detailed design drawings.
Draft “Public Health Target” • Complementary to Water quality target • “We want to be able to swim safely in Cowichan Lake, Cowichan river, and Cowichan Bay…”
