  2. FOOD OF THEEXPEDITION During the expedition of Lewis and Clark, they discovered many new things such as plants, animals, and foods. They also had to live in different places for each time they traveled. The people ate what they could catch, grow and kill. Native Americans ate thethreesisters. The three sisters were corn, carrots and string beans. The most main of the three sisters was corn. People also loved fruit. People of the 1800s did not have things like microwaves. They roasted meat over fires. Crops were harvested and turned into vegetables. white=glossary word

CLOTHING GLOSSARY • Felts: a kind of cloth made by rolling and pressing wool • Leather: a material made from the skin of an animal by tanning or a similar process • Ornaments: a material used to adorn something • Cockades: a knot or ribbon worn in a hat as a badge of office or party • Medallion: a piece of jewelry in the the shape of a medal
