Mission Statement • The ILAC Center in the Dominican Republic is an international, Christian, Ignatian-inspired, collaborative health care and educational organizationthat exists to promote the integral well-being and spiritual growth of all its participants. • All of Creighton’s ILAC programs emphasize the importance of global vision and understanding in the process of education and successful, well-rounded individuals.

  4. Objectives • To improve the health and quality of the life for the Dominican impoverished population. • To educate and promote integral health through the prevention of diseases and practical solutions of sanitation and health maintenance. • As a Christian organization, in the Jesuit tradition, ILAC promotes a faith that does justice, guiding its participants toward greater freedom and commitment to service.

Objectives (Continued) • As a Christian organization, ILAC helps to build communities based on the ideals of love and service. • ILAC strives to promote integral well-being and spiritual growth to all its participants and those it serves. • Through the integration of study, reflection, and experience, the students develop a heightened awareness of the ethical and moral issues that confront them within the third world context and to appreciate another means of how individuals from another culture experience reality.

ILAC Center & ILAC Office • The ILAC (Institute for Latin American Concern) / CESI (Centro de Educación para la Salud Integral) Center is located in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and is a non profit Jesuit institution that houses volunteers who serve the rural areas of the Dominican Republic. • The ILAC Office is part of Creighton's University Ministry division, and its purpose is to coordinate the groups that go to the ILAC/CESI Center in the Dominican Republic.
