What should I be doing? • March – April • Register to take the ACT and/or SAT • Finalize your senior schedule of courses • Search for college information • Dallas/Fort Worth National College Fair • KISD College Fair • Make a list of schools of interest and schedule a college visit/tour • Begin researching college costs and scholarships • Learn about the financial aid process • Investigate activities, community service, volunteer work and/or employment

What should I be doing? • May-August • Begin creating a resume highlighting your high school activities, achievements, leadership roles and community service hours • Fill out the Apply Texas Application • Register with NCAA Eligibility Center if you are a candidate for college athletics • Complete the Senior Profile Access a Central High School Junior Checklist on the CHS website. Handouts are also available in the Counseling Office.

Grade Classification • To be a senior you will need: • 18 credits • To graduate you will need: • 26 credits (including all required courses) • Complete an Endorsement (Arts & Humanities, Business & Industry, Multidisciplinary, Public Service, STEM) • Pass all five (5) STAAR End of Course exams (English I & II, Algebra I, Biology, US History)
