Install bearing (24) (not shown) onto shaft (23). Illustration 4 g00552522 7. Hold shaft (23) in position while spindle (21) is lowered on the final drive housing. Use guide bolts (22) in order to prevent damage to the bearings. Illustration 5 g00552582 8. Install nineteen bolts (20) in spindle (21). Tighten bolts to a torque of 300 ± 40 N·m (220.0 ± 30.0 lb ft). 9. Heat bearing (25) to a maximum temperature of 120° C (248° F). Do not heat the bearing longer than eight hours. Install bearing (25) on spindle (21). Put clean oil on the bearing. 10.   7. 953C Track-Type Loader Hydrostatic Drive 2ZN00001-01749 (MACHINE) POWER... 5/8 15. Heat bearing (32) to a maximum temperature of 120° C (248° F). Do not heat the bearing longer than right hours. 16. Coat the shaft with oil. Install bearing (32). Illustration 9 g00552488 17. Install O-ring (15). Illustration 10 g00552486 18. Install ring gear (14). Note: This step can be accomplished with a press, if a large enough press is available. If a large enough press is not available, use plate (13) and bolts (12). Tighten the bolts. Alternate 180 degrees from each other in order to prevent the bearing from binding. 19. Turn the sprocket in order to seat the bearing by applying a gradual load against plate (13). 20. Hold the force. Install three bolts (12). Alternate 120 degrees from each other. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 95 ± 10 N·m (65.0 ± 7.0 lb ft). 21. Put clean SAE 30 oil on each brake disc (9) and brake plate (10) prior to assembly. Note: There are four discs and three plates in each of the track brakes. 3. Install brake discs (9) and brake plates (10) in ring (11). Start and end with a brake disc. Illustration 2 g00552593 4. Put brake housing (7) in position on the ring with the holes in the brake housing in alignment with the holes in the ring. Install bolts (8). Illustration 3 g00552598 5. Heat bearing (6).
