Since the first National Wear Red Day in 2003 • 34% fewer women now die from heart disease • 43% of women are checking their cholesterol • More than 50% of women exercise more than they did in 2003 • 60% have improved their diets • 15% have quit smoking
HEART HEALTHY TIPS • Eliminate tobacco use • Exercise for 30 minutes • Eat a heart-healthy diet including fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products • Maintain a healthy weight (BMI range: 18.5-24.9) • Know your family history • Get regular health screenings
