  2. What it is! • Something special your club wants to do that is outside of normal activities • Must be an EVENT and funding must be requested BEFORE you host it. • CARDINAL RULE: MUST BE FREE AND OPEN TO THE YALE PUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!

  3. How to apply

  4. Things we fund (usually) • Speaker travel (Metro North train travel from DC to New Haven) • Meals for speakers (at dining hall rates) • Housing for speakers (at the residential college rates) • Refreshments • Venues (within reason) • Advertising your event • AND MORE!

  5. Things we DO NOT fund • Drugs and/or alcohol • Speaker fees and honoraria • Giveaways • Things for non-students • Student travel • Any equipment that we have in our capital equipment system

  6. Things we smile upon • Cost-cutting • Collaboration with other groups

  7. Things to remember • If you are approved, you must include the UOC logo on any advertising • You can have donation boxes, but you cannot force people to donate • If you receive special events funding from the UOC, a UOC member may attend your event • Please don’t lie to us • Application at yale.edu/uofc
