Policy Implementation • New workload policy • Workload committee members briefing chairs at retreat this Friday • Policy provides a framework allowing departments and divisions opportunity to tailor specific policies to their needs • Encourage faculty involvement as chairs and deans work on implementation • Promotion and tenure policy

  3. Faculty course buy-out funds • 50% of net externally funded buyouts returned to departments • Encourage using funds for grad students, but no mandated uses • Potentially subject to state and funder limitations • Dr. Sandra Terrell to be new VP for Academic Outreach • National search for new graduate school dean

  4. Communicating with Faculty • Webcasting • Regular communication with constituents • Briefing note from executive committee • Decide within each group how you want to communicate • Transcribing audio recordings

  5. Other Issues • Disposal of confidential information • Are recycling bins secure? • Shred yourself is best • Recycling services will come collect bins with confidential data on request • Branded apparel • Affordable, good quality • Department orders in by 10:00 9/15/08
