Early Life/Family & Education • His Father was a businessman, farmer, and a church décor. • He was the oldest of three boys. • He spent a lot of time outdoors. • He liked to make and fly kites also he played many sports. • Young John learned to read at home and went to Dame School and later attended a local school also he did poorly in his lessons.
Family Life • John was married to Abigail Smith. • John had five children Abigail, John Quincy, Charles, Thomas, and Susannah. • Sadly Susannah died as a baby.
The Election • He ran against Thomas Jefferson. • Adams got most votes three more than Thomas Jefferson who became his Vice President.
Significant Events • He attended the second Continental Congress this was important because it was the fight for rights against the British.
Life Accomplishments • He helped draft the Declaration of Independence. • He also wrote the Treaty of Paris ending the Revolutionary War.
Interesting Facts • He was the first president to father a U.S president. • Adams was the first president to live in the White House. • Adams house was one of the oldest presidential birth places ever.
