Background and Justification. • Problem Analysis • information are not being shared among the affiliates and central union. • Trade union is not utilizing the advantage of IT system. • Lack of computer knowledge and lack of resources. • International Solidarity and advocacy campaign are not being run smoothly.
Justification- • most of the trade union of the world are using the advantage of IT system. • Employer association and other social partner are using IT for fast and effective communication. • To fight with globalisation international solidarity is needed and IT can help for International solidarity. • Information sharing among the trade union is essential for collective bargaining and up to date activities.
Target Groups. • SPSA officials. • Executive member of the SPSA. • General member and other social partners.
Strategy • Establishing IT Department with in the union. • Awareness raising on IT utilization among the leaders and activists of SPSA.
Objectives: • Development objective: • strengthen the trade union movement in Samoa. • International Solidarity and company activity will be strengthen. Immediate objective: • SPSA office will be equipped with 5 personal computers. • Information about SPSA will be all over in a world wide web. • 5 SPSA officers will be trained on o/office and solicomm.net
Activities: • Purchases PCs for SPSA. • 3 days for training for 5 SPSA staff. • Purchases web space (request to ITC/ILO for web space) • purchase internet access for one year. • Establishment of LAN system. • Creation of web site using Mozilla.
Inputs: • Human Resources. • Money. • Expertise.
