  2. Survey Sheets • This is the first thing you turn in for me and first impressions mean a lot! • Make sure you have answered each question with thought and honesty. • Make sure it is neat. • Make sure it has been turned in on the front counter.

  3. What is Physical Science ? • This science is a requirement for all SC 9th graders • This course will teach you the basics about Chemistry and Physics • This course will be challenging but fun!

  4. What Do You Need? • Textbook/ Workbook • 3-ring binder • Graph paper for labs • Calculator • Paper/ Index Cards • Writing utensils (pencils, blue ink, black ink, markers, colored pencils) • Your Brain!!!!

  5. College Prep Physical Science Grading Procedures • Tests and Projects = 40% • Labs = 30% • Daily Activities, Homework = 30% • EOC = 20% of final grade

  6. Physical ScienceGrading Procedures Tests and Projects = 25% Labs = 30% Daily Activities, Homework = 45% EOC = 20% of final grade

  7. Make-Up Work • All make-up work must be done within 3 days of your return back to school • If you need more time you MUST make arrangements with me to avoid late penalties • Help Sessions: Mondays thru Fridays 3:30 – 4:00 pm (except on Faculty Mtg Wednesdays). • Always check our website to keep up with what is going on in class. • www.myteacherpages.com/webpages/DEarnest

  9. Lab Rules • Use Common Sense • Stay in Your Assigned Lab Area Unless You are Told to Move • Follow all Safety Rules • Clean all Equipment and Work Areas After Each Activity • Sinks Are Not Trash Cans!!!! Safety First!

  10. Safety Contract You must get this signed by your parents before you will be allowed to do labs. Please read it carefully before signing.
