Funnel Protocol: From Top to the Tip • Each participant lists top 3 barriers; one per sticky note regarding staffing or scheduling. • Facilitator reads ALL sticky notes. • Categorize sticky notes. • Identify one priority in each category. • Select a SINGLE sticky note-the group must come to consensus. Read, Turn, and Talk “The principal, along with the literacy leadership team, needs to examine the school schedule to find time to meet critical literacy learning needs. Most successful schools have arranged to provide additional instructional time for students who are reading below grade level. Schools do this in a variety of creative ways, including extended instructional blocks during the day, before and afterschool sessions, and summer programs.” • (Torgesen et al 2007) EngageNY.org
