LOSS OF CREDIT Attendance Clerks: • Laura Napier (A- Garcia, F) 937-2420 • Liz Villarreal (Garcia, G - N) 937-2418 • Lilly Gonzalez (O-Z) 937-2416 State law requires that a student between the ages of six and 18 attend school, as well as any applicable accelerated instruction programs, extended year program or tutorial session, unless the student is otherwise excused from attendance or legally exempt.
LOSS OF CREDIT • Students must be in attendance at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered in order to receive credit. • A student who is in attendance for at least 75 percent but less than 90 percent a class is offered may be given credit if the student completes a plan approved by the school’s principal that provides for the student to meet the instructional requirements of the class. • Parents and their student can be taken to court for 10 or more days within a six month period. Student with LOC will not participate in graduation ceremony nor receive diploma
Mandatory Tutoring • Agreements will be issued between February and June for those in the process of losing credit.
Saturday School • Saturdays (see packet for dates) • In the Library from 8 am – 3 pm. No cell phones are allowed. SENIOR LOC is due May 4
Agreements • If student has loss of credit, the due date is on the current agreement. • Hours are due on the exact due date • An appeal process is necessary if student missed due date (parent & student must be present) • Agreements will be issued in January/February for the fall semester • Loss of credit for the spring semester will be issued in June Deadline for ALL LOC is May 4
April / May Testing Dates • April 9th -English I EOC • April 11th -English II EOC • May 7th- Algebra I EOC • May 8th – US History EOC • May 9th- Biology EOC
Summer Retest Dates • June 24th English 1 • June 25th Algebra 1 • June 26th English 2 • June 27th US History • June 28th Biology
AP –Advance Placement Testing Schedule *Students with 85 or above in first semester do not pay exam fees.
Intersession & SB463 M-F, March 11-15, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm SB463: Due May 4, 2019
Senior Exam Dates • 9 Weeks Exams for Seniors • Monday, May 20 (class periods TBD) • Tuesday, May 21 (class periods TBD) Grades close for Seniors at 12 pm on Friday, May 24, 2019

Senior Failure Letters Counselors will mail out letters to parents Please contact your child’s teachers if you have any questions concerning grades.
Students can visit our scholarship bulletin in the counseling center. Students awarded scholarships will be noted in the graduation program. Students will also have their picture displayed in the commons area along with their scholarship award Students will the most scholarship amounts are recognized by the district in the Top 100 Scholars event.
GRADUATION CLEARANCE • 26 credits to graduate • Provide counselor with a copy of student’s college admission letter, or military enlistment • Provide counselor with copy of FAFSA confirmation email. (NOT FAFSA application) • Scholarship letters submitted before May will be noted on the graduation program
Clearance Card • Student will need to clear from the following stations • Library • Cafeteria • Business Office • Student Activities • Attendance • Counseling • Transcript • Registrar
Tyler Parent Portal, SISD App & Parent Portal • Anyone in the front offices can assist with username and password • Process cannot be completed over the phone • Use same form to gain access to parent portal and SISD app • Parent liaison, Mrs. Galvan, conducts classes on navigating through website
Graduation Day!Saturday, June 1, 2019 @ 1:00 p.m.Don Haskins at UTEP • Expectation • Arrival Time – 11 am • Cap and Gown • Dress Code Decorating of graduation cap is prohibited. Decorating stoles is prohibited.
Jeopardizing Graduation • Discipline • Commits an offense that is serious enough to take this action • Placement in DAEP will be basis to not participate in graduation ceremony • Loss of Credit • If a student stops attending class, they may dip below the required 90% attendance • Grades • If a student fails to complete or submit assignments and/or tests, it may cause their grade to dip below a passing grade
