2. Housing One Hero Ending Veterans Homelessness One Congregation at a Time • House 260 homeless veterans • Welcome veterans into your community • We can accomplish this in 2 years • Mayor’s next Faith Works meeting: Friday, Oct. 14th, 1-2pm at City Hall in the Mayor’s Office

What can one congregation do right away? • Identify low-cost housing options near the faith community • Identify potential landlords within congregation • Commit to leasing an apartment and subleasing to veteran • Commit to re-furbishing an apartment for a recently housed Veteran • Invite a recently housed veteran into your community • Designate monthly budget toward housing a homeless veteran. Recommended $500-2000 Monthly

5. What else can one congregation do? • Consider how to make more housing and support services available to homeless veterans: • Seek ways to use church property to develop housing for Homeless Veterans. Construction of Modular Housing Units • Develop capacity to support a veteran through training and resources within your faith community. • Have a special outreach to homeless veterans inviting them to your community fellowships
