  20. Injury Report Jan 2012- Aug 2012 • Trends Suggest • Multiple Back Injuries, Head Injuries, Eye Injuries, Laceration of fingers, Exposure to Poisonous Gas • Model suggest safety training and training of safer work practices must be the rule of the day.

Timely Filing • Last FECA Council Observation: • Year 2011 Timely Filing wasn’t an issue with only 3 claims identified as untimely out of 48 claims filed for 2011! • Improvement has happened largely due to education and training the field about the importance of timely notification and timely filing of claims. • Jan 2012- Aug 2012 to date we have 34 new injury claims and none were filed untimely. That is awesome!!!

  22. Challenged Claims • Claims must be initially investigated by supervisor! • If claimant case is questionable supervisors must report facts. • We can challenge claims when filing the electronic CA-1 or CA-2 and supporting documentation • There were two claims challenged and reviewed by Department of Labor claims examiner. • Both are under review pending decision for possible reduction of entitlement.
