  1. Land And Water Use Jenna Benson

  2. Project Proposal • Feeding a Growing Population • Controlling a Pest

  3. Clear purpose with a beneficial learning outcome for yourself. • Learning more about genetic engineering and crop production. • Learning the costs and benefits of pesticide use.

  4. Project clearly tied to at least 3 learning objectives from the AP Environmental Science Course Outline. • How genetic engineering is benefitting the farmers who grow crops, and how pesticides are being used to help the crops and keep insects from eating the crops, and finding out if pesticides cause harm to humans.

  5. Must include a clear product, and guidelines for assessing the outcome of your project. • Guidelines for the project are whether the data was well gathered, it met the topics being discussed, and if it caught the audiences attention. • The clear product is getting to know the benefits of genetic engineering and the benefits of crop pesticides.

  6. Tell me how many people you need to do this project. Define roles. • 2 people to collect data on the use of pesticides and how much it costs. • 2 people to investigate the genetic engineering of crops. • Have someone make a power point on the information gathered

  7. 6 Week timeline defining different portions of the project. Identify mileposts. • Week 1- supply list • Week 2- gather data • Week 3- make the power point • Week 4- add any additional material • Week 5- make sure all information makes sense • Week 6- present
