What is “Marking Text?” • A strategy to help you understand what you’re reading. • A way to interact with what you’re reading. • An opportunity for you to connect to what you’re reading.
Things you might ‘mark’ as you read: 1. PC= personal connection to what you’re reading. 2. ?= a question you might have for the author or characters you are reading about. 3. Underline= underlining words you don’t know the meaning of.
How do I mark them? If the book belongs to you, you can use whatever you want! I recommend using a pencil or a highlighter.
