Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. • Wanted to end racial segregation and racial discrimination • To do this, he used civil disobedience and other non-violent means • An example of civil disobedience would be sit-ins at all white dinners
Montgomery Bus Boycott • Happened in 1955, Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the leaders • During this time his home was bombed • All started with Rosa Parks • Ended with a ruling that there would be no segregation in the bus system
March on Washington • Happened in 1963 • This is where Dr. King delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech
