Team Mission • Our mission is to create a positive environment where high school student-athletes are able to learn and develop the skills needed to play competitive lacrosse. Emphasis will be placed on self-confidence, hard work, integrity, leadership, sportsmanship, and a love of sports, which will provide the players the skills needed to succeed in life on or off the field.
Our Mission • Our mission will be accomplished if: • Coaches provide vision and structure • Parents give support and feedback • Players work hard everyday and have fun
Trainer information • Hours after school • Services • When to see a trainer • Must have a note from doctor to return to play • Hydration (64 oz minimum) • Base Line Testing for Concussion ($5)- Players do not need to complete a 2nd test • Week of March 10th
Preseason • Players should start doing the following: • Attending after school dome practices from 3:00-5:00pm (This is the last week) • Attend Morning Captains Practice the next week and the week after finals on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. • 5:30 am – 7:00am • PRESEASON BOOT CAMP!
Gear/Equipment • All black equipment besides helmets are required • Team Helmets must be used • Varsity gloves must be used • Two sticks are recommended with same stringing • Mouth guard • Cleats (no metal tips) • Own water bottle for practices
Registration • 9th and 10th graders will need to follow the RAAA guideline for wait listing • 9th-12th graders must sign up with the High School by March 26th with a current physical. (Online through Feepay) • Players who are selected for the 9/10 team will need to complete the registration to participate in 9/10 practices.
Spring Break • If you leave to go on vacation, bring your lacrosse stick. • We will have a few captains practices.
Try outs • Try outs are on March 31st through April 2nd • Team selection will be on the evening of April 3rd • Location of try outs will be dependent on weather. Player must wear try out pinnies. • Try outs most likely will be split by experience groups and age • There are possible AM Try Out times
Team Selection • Teams will be selected based upon: • Player skill level (including speed, stick skills, size and Lacrosse IQ) • Need • Comprehensive player work ethic • Academics • Player attitude • Citizenship
Varsity will be 20-24 players initially • JV will be 18-22 players • 9th and 10th graders will be on the RAAA 9/10 team
Tops and Food Drive during week 1 • Team Dinner after Try outs on March 31st at 7:15 pm • Bring $12 for the buffet • Parents and Families are welcomed • Registration for your families will be on our website • Players will receive food drive bags March 31st • Collect Food items during week 1 • Food Drop off is on April 5th after Team Building event at RHS to help sort
ALL Player Team Dinners • Purpose • Who is invited • Volunteers needed for food • Volunteers needed for serving food • Website for sign up will be posted soon • Dates 4/17, 25, 30th, and 5/7, 14, and 21.
April 5th Coaches Team Building Event • We will have a team building event on April 5th in the RHS Gym 9:00 am to 11:30 am • All players need to attend for all three teams.
April 5th Varsity Scrimmage • Varsity will be playing in the Holy Angels Scrimmage on Saturday night • Game times will be posted on our website as soon as we know • Possible a JV and 9/10 Scrimmage as well.
Games and Practices Practices are generally 5-7pm for JV and Varsity at the high school unless it is a lifting day. 9/10 practices start at 3:30 pm. Location TBD Bad weather: Team practice at different locations. This could be the dome, gym, or ice arena • Players are expected at every practice • practice times change and the coach will notify players as far in advance as possible (email, website and twitter).
Games • First game is April 17th JV and Varsity • Varsity and JV don’t always play at the same location, please check website. • Players must ride the bus to the game. • 9/10 game schedule is completely different than the Varsity and JV. See website!

Expectations • Players are expected to be positive role models inside and outside of school • Prioritize school and lacrosse • Keep up with coaches’ expectations • Work hard • Become better players on their own • Have a positive work attitude • Respect teammates and lacrosse
Lettering • Players have to earn 90 points • Players earn points by: • Practice attendance and participation • Roster/Game selection • Participation in Fundraising • Participation in Captain’s Practice, Clinics, Camps • Honor Rolls, GPA, Other Sports

Cost of team • Coaches $11000 (paid 9/10 coach and assistant 9/10 Coach) • Practice Packs- $2400 • Equipment -$4000 • Coach’s Clinics and Training $1800 • Try out pinnies -$900 • Team Parties $1000 • Senior Night and Scholarships-$1200 • Busing $1500 • Banquet $500 • Other items-$1500 • Every dollar goes somewhere back to the players
Cost • Average Cost per player above district support: $375-$425 (depending on number of players)
Money Comes From… • Raffle -40% • Advertising -25% • Misc Fundraisers -10% • Booster Club Sponsorship-25% • Parent’s Opportunity to support program • Pledge cards
Selling Raffles • Tonight, all players have to pick up a set of raffle tickets and give a check to the booster club • This goes towards the shirts, hoody, sweats, shorts and pinnies that every player gets • Goes towards equipment cost of captains practices, winter coaching, team dinners, team building, and scrimmage • Return small envelopes to Coach Kuehn • If player sells raffle tickets, there will be no cost to the family. • Turn in Raffles by April 4th to Coach Kuehn
Passive Fundraisers • We also have a few fundraisers that are not demanding and are ongoing: • Pahl’s market coupons • Old Cell phone collection
Advertising in Program • Selling advertising space in our program • Growth helps offset burden on players/parents costs • Need your help – if you have a personal contact with a local business in the area please ask them to advertise • Volunteer to reach out to 2-3 local businesses • Stan Drutowski is the contact person • Email is on our website • Or contact Brett Boyum
Parents • Other Volunteering Opportunities • Parent/Senior night volunteers (May 15th) • Teacher appreciation Night (May 6th) • Banquet volunteers (June 17th)
Future Lax Player Opportunity We need 4-6 boys grades 4th – 8th grade to help be ball bays at each home game Boys get in free to the games, receive a half time treat, and a token of appreciation from the coaching staff. They must wear a helmet. Sign ups are through Coach Kuehn

Senior College Scholarship • We have a senior scholarship. • Forms will be available in the counseling department. • The Counseling department scholarship committee will pick the winner. • It will be announced at the Scholarship Tea.
College Lacrosse this weekend • Friday: 6:30 pm NDSU vs Lindenwood at Concordia, 8:00 pm MSU vs UW-Madison at Shattuck and 9:00 pm SJU vs Grand Valley at Concordia • Saturday: 3:00 pm MSU vs Iowa State at Shattack, 5:00 pm Gophers vs Iowa State at U of M Bubble, 6:30 pm TOMMIES VS GRAND VALLEY at Concordia, and 9:00 pm SJU vs Lindenwood at Concordia • Sunday: 8:30 pm NDSU vs Grand Valley at Concordia and 11:00 am Tommies vs Lindenwood at Concordia.
