  2. In the Beginning The fight against segregation was a tough job. Black people had to face fighting ,unfair treatment , and violence.

  3. Black kindergarteners took a test. One girl was named Ruby Bridges. She was chosen to go to a white school called Frantz Elementary School. She was lead by US. Marshals .

  4. Ruby Bridges 1954 in Mississippi Ruby Bridges was born . Ruby was the oldest. A couple of months later her family moved to New Orleans. Her father got a job working as a service station attendant. Her mother worked night shift cleaning floors in the bank. Rubybridges.com

  5. Ruby’s life Ruby and other black kindergarteners took a test to see which kids would be attending white schools. She was chosen to attend Frantz William Elementary. People did not want Ruby to go to go their children's school. So when Ruby arrived at Frantz William Elementary , people threw tomatoes at her and the US Marshals. Bbc.co.uk

  6. People took their children out of school and made them join the protest . Months later women were tired of the children getting into mischief. So they sent their children in one by one . When they came home they said they had a good time at school. So the children went back to school. Bbc.co.uk

  7. Rosa Parks Rosa McCauley Parks was born February 4 , 1913. On December 1,1995 , in Montgomery, Alabama , Rosa , age 42 , refused to give up her seat to make room for white passengers. Later the called her the “Mother of Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement. Bbc.co.uk

  14. Martin Luther King Martin Luther king jr was born January 15, 1929. He lived with a brother and a sister. He grew up with a family that went to church every Sunday. His father was the minister of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church. He grew up at that church. The church stands till this day.   16. The Mural The mural in Dexter Avenue Baptist Church shows different things that happened during the Civil Rights Movement . One part shows white firemen spraying the black men, women , and children. It also showed Martin praying in a jail cell.

  18. His siblings Martin has two siblings. A sister and a brother. His sister’s name is Willie Christine King. His brother’s name is Alfred Daniel King . Martin’s sister Christine wrote a book about their life . It was called “Martin’s little sister”. Alfred was the youngest of the three children. Martin was the oldest. Wikipedia.com

  19. His Fame Martin King is famous for his I Had A Dream speech. But that is not where it started. It started when Dr. King started the Montgomery Boycott.
