Social work students have dynamic, interactive classes through role playing and group projects. “How may I help you today?” “Let’s write a grant that will educate high school students about heroin use.”
Social work students develop strong relationships through social activities… and celebrating life experiences.
Pre-Requisite Classes • Student must have a C or better in the following courses; • English 101, • English 102, • Psychology 200, • Political Science 101, • Sociology 131. • Students must also have a GPA of 2.50 or better to enter the program.

Social work students practice skills in agencies. • Student social workers have two field placements, SWK 390, (Junior placement ) and SWK 490, (Senior placement). • These placements are in two different agencies so students have an opportunity to experience different client populations. • By the end of the two placements, students will have completed almost 500 hours or internships!

Admission to SWK Program • Apply to program AFTER • All pre-requisites are completed • SWK 210 has been taken • Grades of C or better in above classes • GPA of 2.50 or better has been obtained • BEFORE taking SWK 350 ***MUST attend admissions orientation to get required admissions packet
Corbin SWK program has classes on a rotation that starts in the Fall semester .
