Unit 1- Lab Safety and Science Notebooks • Unit 2- Weather Data and Tools • We chart and graph the weather for a week during each season. • Unit 3- Classifying Matter • Unit 4- Changes from Heat • Unit 5- Physical Properties and Building with Matter • Unit 6- Effects of Energy • Investigate the effects on an object by increasing or decreasing amounts of light, heat and sound energy

Unit 7- Patterns of Movement • Unit 8- Weather Observations- Fall • Unit 10- Magnets • A lot of fun experiments! • Unit 11- Weather and Seasons- Winter • Unit 12- Patterns of Objects in the Sky • We will observe, describe and record patterns of objects in the sky • Unit 13- Basic Needs of Plants and Animals • Unit 14- Animal Characteristics • Research project on animal of choice

Unit 15- Plant Characteristics • Plant seeds, garden and plant investigations • Unit 16- Food Chains • We will study food chains within a garden, park, beach, lake and wooded area. • Unit 17- Environmental Effects • Unit 18- Insect Life Cycles • We research the entire life cycle of lady bugs! They will start out as a larvae and grow in our classrooms. • Unit 19- Weather Observations- Spring • Unit 20- Weather and Water Cycle

  5. Unit 21- Sources of Water • Freshwater and saltwater • Unit 23- Resources • Unit 24- Rocks • Physical properties of rocks! This is a very exciting unit for the kids.
