Eligibility 18 years + High school grad or equivalent Good moral character • No felonies Education from qualified program • Waived for qualified applicants Pass FCLB approved exam Pay fees
Clinical Internship During first year: • 300 hours practical experience • Equals 7.5 weeks full-time work • Direct supervision • On-line attestation • All services are billable
Clinical Internship: Supervisor duties • Doctor of chiropractic • Registered with FCLB • Active, unrestricted license • Doctor attests: understands responsibilities • Doctor attests: accuracy of hours and exposure to clinical services *Regulated jurisdictions may also have registration requirements
Renewal 2 year period (biennial) 3 hours of qualifying CE every 2 years? 6 hours? • Asking for member board feedback

Required Educational Components 8 core areas* • General Roles, Duties and Responsibilities of the CCCA • Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology • Patient Historical and Clinical information • Examination of Vitals • Emergency Care • Record-keeping and Documentation • Ethics and Boundaries • Physiological Therapeutics and Rehabilitation *Based on modified Delphi study by postgraduate deans
Waiver of Education Evidence of other qualifying training EITHER • Chiro assistant program at least equivalent to CCCA requirements • Many existing programs willautomatically qualify OR • 600 hours of practice (15 weeks) within past 24 months, attest certification to all CCCA minimal competencies
Qualified Exam Approved by FCLB (NBCE exam) • Required of everyone • No exceptions • Take after qualified education or if granted experience waiver Pass: • Includes award of initial 12 month certification
