13. The Road to Orientation 85% of our Teaching Staff attended Literacy Boot Camp and AB466 Fast Track Reading Materials training last summer
Leadership Team decided that we wanted all of our students to have these literacy strategies in their tool boxes
First 4 weeks of school, all returning and new students had an orientation class
All incoming students have a 4 week orientation class that start as soon as a new session starts
14. Orientation Classes Four 90 minute augmented classes
6 hours of total instructional seat-time
Students have an Orientation Packet to complete between their intake appointment and their first meeting with their supervisorial teacher to provide a basis for attendance credit
No more than 25 students in a class are provided with group and individual activities as well as independent projects
15. Reading Strategies Focus is on the Pre-reading, During-Reading and Post-Reading process of our extended style of Cornell Notes
