Reverse engineer complete swimming pool design to be code compliant; add heating system. Solar Direct was contracted to bring the pool that was built in 1961 up to current Health Department codes, and integrate a new pool heating system into the plans. In-house engineers engineered all hydraulic and electrical aspects of the pool, and completed new CAD Plans and Submittals for the Health Department. The new heating system consisted of six Heat Pumps and one 950,000BTU Gas Backup Heater. The Heaters utilized a custom built Sequence Control to prevent high electric demand usage. The Heat Pumps have a C.O.P. (Co-efficient of Performance) of 5.7, making them over 570% more efficient than a gas heater. Project Objective
