Background of the research Das Sollen The language learners still regard reading as the bored activity and they also less motivation to study. DISCUSSION The students gain their reading ability easier when the writer teaches the students by using folktale video. The students have less motivation in reading narrative text because some of students cannot imagine their reading ability about narrative text. FOLKTALE VIDEO Printed text There is significant different on the ability of reading narrative text taught by using folktale video and printed text.
