Fashion in America • Our group’s goal in creating this presentation was to show the diversity of fashion in different areas across the United States • To do this, we placed people from various parts of America in places where they may not normally be seen
website • http://www41.homepage.villanova.edu/kelly.sheridan/pictorial_essay.htm
Showgirl on a Farm • To make this image, I used a picture of a farm, which I found on Google, as the background. I then pasted an image of the showgirl on top of the farm background, and used the Eraser tool to remove the remaining image that was initially surrounding the showgirl
Cowboy in Times Square • To make this image, I began with a picture of Times Square, which I found on Google. I pasted an image of a cowboy over the Times Square image, then used the Eraser tool to remove the image that was originally part of the cowboy’s picture.
Eskimo Girl on the Beach • To create this image, I began with the image of a beach. I pasted a picture of an Eskimo girl and her sister on top of this image. I then used the Eraser tool to remove the majority of the image with the Eskimo girl, so that it appears as if a picture was taken of an Eskimo on the beach
hillbillies in Las Vegas • The image was produced using photoshop. The images were copied from the above website addresses and merged together. The hillbillies were layered on top of the image of the Las Vegas strip. The picture of the hillbillies was adjusted using the free transformation technique. I used the magnetic lasso and the move tool to merge the two pictures together to make it look as if the hillbillies were in an unknown location to them.
Emo Girl in the Florida sunshine • I used photoshop to construct the second picture for the pictorial essay. The photo depicts an emo girl, who regularly wouldn't be found on the beach. I opened each of the photos in photoshop and cropped the girl into the picture of the beach. I layered the girl on top of the beach picture. I used the magnetic lasso to drag the girl on top of the beach photo. I then used the eraser tool and magic eraser tool to clean up the edges to make the picture look realistic. I then used the text function to describe the picture for the viewers.
Stuck in the 80’s • For the third pictorial essay, I once again opened a series of pictures in photoshop. I used the magnetic lasso and layered the three people from the 80's into a current picture of Times Square in New York City. Once I cropped the 80's characters, I used the eraser and the magic eraser to blend the people into the environment and make it look for realistic. I then inserted text to describe exactly what the photo is attempting to depict.
Inner City Mountain Climber • To create this image I first found the image of the person climbing a mountain on the internet. • Then I found the picture of the inner city scene that I thought would be an interesting backdrop for the image of the climber • The next step was to cut the climber out of the picture including the mountain. In order to do this I used the magnetic lasso tool and with some minor tweaking was able to get the climber selected • Then I dragged the image of the climber into the background of the city • Then I resized the climber using the free transform tool
Overdressed Woman at the Beach • I first found the image of the background of the beach on the internet. • Then I saved that picture and uploaded it into photoshop. • After doing this I Found a picture of a woman in a winter coat. • Then I selected only the woman from the image using the magnetic lasso tool in photoshop. • Then I used the move tool and dragged it into the picture of the beach. • Then I moved and rescaled the image of the woman using free transform. • Finally I partially erased the woman's feet to make it appear as though her feet were in the sand.
Man in a Suit on a Cattle Farm • First I obtained both images from the internet. • Then I took the one of the man in the suit and edited it because the original copy had white numbers on his suit. To do this I used the clone stamp tool in photoshop. • Then I used the magnetic lasso to select the man and moved him onto the image of the cattle farm using the move tool. • Then I positioned and scaled him.
Baby Blythe in Las Vegas • I took a baby picture of myself and used Photoshop to cut myself out of the original picture and paste it onto the picture of Vegas which I found through Google.
Water Skier on a Snowy Mountain • I Googled pictures of skiers, and used Photoshop to cut out a picture of a man waterskiing and paste him onto a mountain where a man is skiing in the snow.
Eskimos in New York City • I searched for a picture of an Eskimo and then used Photoshop to cut them out and paste it into a picture of Time Square.
