For the poor b/c they still had to pay a dowries • If women couldn't find a man or employment they settled with prostitution

Men however, had to be sexually experienced and possibly required by law; premarital sex happened a lot and was becoming more and more common in women • Widows inherited the estate and the business and became more accepted • Blacks were in Europe back in the Greek times and remained a small pop. • Blacks fascinated the Europeans b/c of their knowledge of the world
