  3. State Budget Context • Passage of Proposition 30 • Modest increases in UC’s base budget • No tuition increases for 2013-14 • No funding for enrollment growth for California students • Middle-income scholarship program • Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan

  4. Fall 2013 Outcomes for CCC Transfers • CCC Transfer Applicants: 29,447 ( 70) • Admits: 20,837 ( 4) • Admit Rate for System: 70.8% ( 0.1%) • Statement of Intent to Register: 17,332 ( 104) • Transfer Admits from CCCs: 92%

  5. Diversity of CCC Transfer Admits • First-Generation College: 52% • Low Income: 45% • Underrepresented: 27%

Process Updates • UC Transfer Admission Planner (UC TAP) • UC TAP can pre-populate academic history on admission application • Multiple opportunities to update if UC TAP updated • Fall 2014 • Student can report transfer degree: • planned degree (AA-T/AS-T) • major • Intersession: spring is spring and summer is summer • July 1 deadline for final, official transcripts

Policy Updates • Lower-Division Unit Limitation • All lower-division units are counted and capped at 70 semester units regardless of sending institution • Exception: All UC units must count • Upper-division units could make a student a senior • Specifics provided in the Transfer 101 & 102 sessions • Fall 2014 • Southwest Asian & North African (SWANA) ethnic category
