Prevention of House Fires • Smoke Detectors • Place Smoke Detectors In Their Proper Locations • Top of Stairs • Bedrooms • Outside the Kitchen Area • Basement (Outside the Utility Area) • Attic • Make Sure You Maintain Your Smoke Detectors • Change The Batteries Twice A Year • Vacuum Occasionally To Clear Dust & Bugs • Test Your Smoke Detectors
Prevention Of House Fires • Open Flames • Never Leave Open Flames Unattended • When Your Cooking ALWAYS Turn The Burner Off When You Step Out • If You Use Candles Always Blow Them Out When You Leave The Room Or House • Never Leave Your Fire Place On When You Leave The House
Prevention of House Fires • Extension Cords And Power Strips • Do Not Overload Your Extension Cords And Power Strips • Extension Cords Are For Low Voltage Consuming Appliances (Locks, Clocks) • No Extension Cords Can Be Used Or Ran Under Carpets Or Furniture Legs • Never Connect Electrical Extension Cords To Another Electrical Extension Cord Or Power Strips. • Power Strips Are For Larger Appliances (TV’s, Computers, Entertainment Systems). You Must Purchase Power Strip Of Appropriate Size For That Appliance
