  2. Give BIGLexington Overview A community-wide giving challenge designed to spread awareness and inspire generosity for local nonprofit organizations. Between 12 a.m. and midnight on November 12th, qualifying donations made to nonprofits through the Lexington Community Foundation’s Give BIG Lexington website or hand-delivered to the Foundation’s office will be proportionately matched, allowing donors to grow their year-end gifts.

WHY WE CREATED GIVE BIG LEXINGTON • To inspire generosity while introducing excellent and efficient nonprofits, programs and causes that make our region a healthier more vital place to live; • Increase public awareness of the efforts, goals and needs of the many organizations and programs in this area; • Provide opportunities for nonprofits to grow their giving and for donors to easily support the causes that mean most to them.

HOW GIVE BIG LEXINGTON WILL WORK • Donation match funds: • The match will be proportionate to the total qualifying donations received on Wednesday, November 12th • Example: 3% of the total qualifying donations are to Nonprofit X. Nonprofit X receives 3% of the matching funds. • To qualify for match funds: • donations must be made between 12 a.m. & midnight November 12th on your nonprofit’s page on the Give BIG Lexington website; • or donations can be delivered in person at the Lexington Community Foundation office – 607 N. Washington – between 8a.m. - 5p.m. • donations up to $25,000 per donor/per organization, qualify to receive funds from the Give BIG Lexington match pool.

  6. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A DONATION IS MADE ONLINE? Organizations with independent 501c3 status will receive donations and donor information. Disbursements will be made by December 17. Any match funds, prizes or bonus grants awarded will be included with your disbursement. Give BIG Lexington donations are processed through Razoo with a 4.9% processing fee. A donation is made through Give BIG Lexington. Organizations associated as an affiliate of the Lexington Community Foundation (LCF) will have their donations pass through LCF. Donor information will be mailed by December 17. Any match funds, prizes or bonus grants awarded will be included with your disbursement.

  7. HOW DO I KNOW IF MY ORGANIZATION RECEIVES DONATIONS ON NOVEMBER 12th? • The Give BIG Lexington website will operate in real time with a donation leader board. You will be able to see the donations given to any cause on that day. • Check often during the day to see your status and placement for the bonus grant challenge & if you have been awarded a Golden Ticket!

MAKE THE MOST OF THE GIVING DAY • Meet with the Foundation by September 12thto pick up your information packet and determine eligibility to participate. • Update your nonprofit profile by September 30th. • Create a marketing campaign. • Plan an event on November 12thto promote your organization’s participation in Give BIG Lexington • Promote through social media. • Contact your supporters. • Be Creative!
