Fruit of the Spirit Love (Greek: Agapē –ag-ah'-pay ) • Unselfish love; • God is its primary purpose
Fruit of the Spirit Joy (Greek chara -- khar-ah' ) • Gladness • Happiness based on unchanging divine promises
Fruit of the Spirit Peace (Greek: eirene -- i-ray'-nay ) • Tranquil state of a soul assured of itssalvation through Christ
Fruit of the Spirit Longsuffering (Greek: makrothumia -- mak-roth-oo-mee'-ah ) • Patience • Ability to endure • Willingness to accept irritating or painful situations
Fruit of the Spirit Gentleness (Greek: chrestotes -- khray-stot'-ace) • Moral goodness (goodness of heart) • Integrity • Kindness • Tender concern for others • Treat others gently, as the Lord treats believers
Fruit of the Spirit Goodness ( Greek: agathosune -- ag-ath-o-soo'-nay) • Comes from agathos which means of good character that is pleasing to the Lord • Uprightness of heart and life • Spiritual excellence manifested in active kindness
Fruit of the Spirit Faith (Greek: Pistis -- pis'-tis ) • Strong conviction or belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through whom we obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom of God • Belief with the predominate idea of trust and reliance on Christ
Fruit of the Spirit Meekness (Greek: praotes -- prah-ot'-ace ) • Not just outward behavior • Submissive to the will of God • Disposition of having infinite resources with God in command
Fruit of the Spirit Temperance (Greek: egkrateia --eng-krat'-i-ah) • Self control • Virtue of one who masters his desires andpassions, esp. his sensual appetites
