What Is Child Mortality? • Child mortality means the child death rate under the age of 5 per 1000 live births. • The rate in Cambodia is about 51 deaths per 1000 live births... Which is really high.
Why DO children die? • Children mostly die because of diseases. • Diarrhea, ARI and neonatal causes are the most biggest. Diarhhea happens because of usage of dirty water ( to drink, cook) • To fight these diseases you need vaccinations and most children don't receive them. • Lots of children die in Cambodia... Its really sad
STOPING these diseases/child mortality • TRY to use clean water for anything • In hospitals, try to avoid handling the new born baby unnecessarily and clean equipment so that babies don't get infected. • More midwives in hospitals and wells in rural places
