  1. Network Management Anders Bjorkman Director of Technology Messaging Standards Collaboration - Next Steps

  2. Next Steps – Messaging standard • Proof of concept demonstration – SCUC messaging • Scope • Create XML input messages • Use a small 100 bus model • Create Prototype Adapters for each SCUC • ABB, Areva, and Siemens • Prototype testing • Verify SCUC XML output complies with the schema • Documentation for standards promotion • Goal • Further ‘cleanup’ and tuning of CME schema • Demonstrate the feasibility of SCUC as ‘plug and play’

  3. Next Steps – Messaging Standard • Standards Promotion • IEC TC57 WG13 and WG16 • At conclusion of Proof of Concept • UML and supporting documents • Messaging Standard for Additional Applications • Market Participant Bid Submission • Extensive schema reuse from SCUC messaging • Network Applications (e.g. power flow, security analysis, state estimation) • Partially accomplished w/ SCUC messaging • Settlements • Metering

  4. Conclusion – Messaging Standard • Lessons Learned & Benefits • Good to have ITC as program management and vendors implementing • Workshops are an efficient format • Having most of the ISO’s present makes for a widely usable interface definition • The standard reflects the collective experience of all the participating vendors and ITC members
