How do I prepare for Industry Validation? Before we begin: • Systematic continuous improvement – AQTF requirement Some requirements: • Leading into internal reviews and audits: • Moderation/validation – TAS and Assessment – teachers • Validation – TAS and Assessment - Industry
Industry Validation – Why do we do it? AQTF requirement Gain current knowledge about our industry Prepare our students to enter industry Align our programs with industry
Industry Validation at SLC Before the day • Staff have completed validation of TAS and Assessment (different check to industry check) • Looks at the paperwork and ensures compliance • Includes discussion about improvement
When organising the event • List VTA’s and organise rep for each • Source industry people • Parents/community (newsletter??) • Employer contacts – SWL – ABIGroup • People staff may know in the industry • Set date/time. Have approved • Book Venue/Organise catering • Send emails to employers to confirm date, time and what to expect. Give them a map of the school, where to come, details of parking, time/venue, date
Two days prior to the event • Prepare and copy forms to be used on day • Ring employers to confirm • Send documents to staff and outline procedures for day
On the day of the event • Have catering organised early • Walk around and help your staff • Collect forms when completed/attach business card to work • Give a thank you certificate and/or gift to employer
After Day • Complete internal reviews • Internal Reviews
