Advanced Editing Red-Eye • Click the Red-Eye tool. • With caps lock on, press control, number 9, then press tab. Cursor turns into eye shape. • Use the bracket keys to adjust the size and shape. Adjust the size to match the pupil you are trying to fix.
Advanced Editing Retouch • Click the Retouch tool. • With caps lock on, press control, and number 9, then press tab. The cursor turns into a special size. • Use the bracket keys to adjust size and shape.
Advanced Editing Setting and Exposure Levels Look at the histogram: • Drag the exposure slide so the midtones look acceptable. • Levels slider adjusts the dark and light areas. Right adjusts light areas; left adjusts the dark areas. Drag the sliders inward until they reach the peaks.
Advanced Editing Brightness and Contrast can be used to make even more adjustments Color Adjustments • Tint-adjusts overall cast of picture • Temperature-blue and orange • Saturation-increases and decreases color
Advanced Editing Straightening an Image • Drag the Straighten slider and adjust along gridlines • Enlarge and crop the photo Sharpening an Image • Drag the panel to the right to sharpen the image. Moving the panel too far to the right can create a halo. • Going to the left can soften the image.
Photo Book • Open iPhoto • To create an album select the + button at the bottom of the Source Panel • Choose Album and name the album. Select Create. • Click and drag the pictures for the iPhoto book into the appropriate album. • This creates an alias of the photo. Photos deleted from an album are not deleted from the Photo Library.

Inside the album Photo Book • Alternate way to create book • With the new album and images in the album, click and view the content in the album. • Arrange the order of the images. • Click on Book button at the bottom tool bar. Click on the Book button
Photo Book • Decide on the book type and theme • Select a theme • Click>Choose Theme 1-book size View themes 2-cick here
Photo Book • Create the album by dragging the images from the top tool bar to the appropriate page. • The tool bar at the bottom allows the user to change the page design, page type, and layout. • HINT-The theme of book can be changed later. Some captions may be lost.

Book Hints: • To change the font style and the font size Click>Settings. • The introduction page describes the purpose of the book. • Page Design allows users to change the layout of pictures and add captions. • Different themes have a variety of page designs. Not all have caption options.
Book • For classroom use, instead of buying a copy of the book, students can save and print a copy of the book to share with class. • To save and print: • File>Print>PDF>Save PDF • Select location to save • Find the new PDF document and print

Slideshow • Create an album or use an existing album with the desired pictures. • View the images in the album and click + button, or the slideshow icon at bottom.

Slideshow • To change the order of the slides, click and drag among them in the top area of the screen. • Use the buttons at the bottom to create slideshow options. • Use transitions and music for each slide. • To preview Click>Preview • To play Click>Play

Slideshow Ways to use Share Slideshow: • Students can narrate a description of the pictures in the show in front of the class. • The slideshow can also be transferred to iDVD and burned onto a disc for teaching purposes. Open iDVD first. Click>Share>Send to iDVD • Transfer to iMovie for further editing and addition of multiple music selections
Calendar • Create an album or use an existing album • View the images in the album and click the + button at the bottom of the Source Pane, or click the icon calendar at the bottom of the page. • Select a design from the theme list. • Choose the month and year for the beginning of the calendar.

Calendar Similar to the iBook, users can: • Adjust settings • Configure page layouts • Create captions on images • Add information about the dates by double clicking on the box for date.
