  4. Chart of the growth of people over age 65 in Chiayi City People over 65 in all city take a rate of 3.40% in 1997,gradually increasing to 11.1% in 2011.And in the coarse of time the city had become a gray age society in 1993.With a rate over 10% in 2005 and 11.1% in 2011.

  5. 2.The Process of Transforming Chiayi City into an Age-Friendly City（1） • In March, a launching ceremony was held for the ”Elderly Friendly Society Chiayi City”. • For different levels of city government to organize the growth and consensus camps. Political Commit-ment Establish promotion team • Establish of ” Age-friendly ChiayiCity Committee ”,set to e awarded the articles of association, organizational structure and work responsibility. • Meeting three preparatory meetings, the selection committee. planning and promotion matters. Application for AFHC • To participate in the 2011 selection of the third Healthy Cities Awards, won five awards. • By the Nation Health Board and invited South Korea to share to promote the experience, access to all walks of life was appreciation. • To open scholastic symposium on the promotion of Age-Friendly City by inviting a scholar, Dr. Ruth from New York City to share us her experience. • October 2011,held in the age friendly city and NGO organization shows, inviting counties and cities for seniors citizens NGO to extend the interaction of the NGO organization. • Participation in the first international conference of Age-Friendly City under the auspices of WHO. • March 2012,National Health Council to invite to share the experience of Age-Friendly City in 2012 years of national health conference. • March 2012,to share the acting experience of the staffs from all the cities and counties at the national health conference. • September 2011,to participate in the 20th session of the Health Promotion Hospital International Symposium in poster show. Step3: Need assessments（1） • Since 2010, in consideration of the elderly people from personal status and ethnic groups, five county sympoiums about the development structure environment and service apparatus have been held with an aim of making closer visits and communication. Step4:Baseline indicator • According to the 8 WHO directions of the global Aged-Friendly Cities, We have formed our own eight aspects of the Aged-Friendly City, And 20 departments at the city government have set up 110 indicator of their own accordingly. The Action Plan Report In Chiayi !! (2011/06)

Step5:3 year action plan (1) • The thee-year action plans for the Aged-Friendly City have been set up by 30 units at the city government according to the 8 WHO directions of the Global Aged-Friendly Cities. And annual implementation and improvement strategies are kept all in accordance with the city budget.   20. Step6:Application for AFHC According to WHO’S network of the Aged-Friendly cities. We have set up a process of the beforehand work of colleting the qualifications for participation ( such as the name of the city, the mailing address and the mayor, and network for Aged-Friendly City should be built up at the same time. Them the departments at the city government will hand in the end of June. The application will be sent to WHO for the (participation ) of the network of the global Aged-Friendly Cities.

We eagerly take part in both domestic and foreign organizations and activities. And through the communication platform. We share our experiences with people of other areas and by doing so we can also learn about new knowledge and skills. .
