What do they do? GODDESSES WERE FRO A STRANGE MIXTURE OF INFLUENCES. PEOPLE BELIEVED IN GOD AND SPIRITS IN THE PAST. EACH GOD OR GODDESSES WAS REPRESENTED FOR SOMETHING. ONE EXAMPLE IS APOLLO HE WAS THE GOD OF SUN.
WHY WERE THEY IMPORTANT? • MANY YEARS IN THE PAST GODS HAD THE POWER OF SOMETHING THAS WHAT PEOPLE THOGHT. ACTUALLY WE KNOW ALL THESE THINGS WERE MYTHS THING THAT HAD NEVER BEEN TRUE.
Who was apollo? • HE WAS THE SUN”S GOD, POETRY, MUSIC AND ORACLES. FISRTABLE HE WAS THE SUN”S GOD AND HE BROUGTH THE LIGHT TO THE WORLD RIDING HIS CHARIOT PULLED BY POWERS HORSES.
Personal characteristics • Apollo was son of Jupiter and Latona, and brother of Diana, and of all the divinities in the pagan world, the chief cherisher and protecter of the polite arts, and the most conspicuous character in heathen theology; nor unjustly, from the glorious attributes ascribed to him, for he was the god of light, medicine, eloquence, music, poetry and prophecy.
Personal life • WHEN HE WAS AN ADULT BECAME ENAMORED OF DAPHNE, DAUGTER OF THE RIVER PENEUS, OF THESSALY. THE GOD PURSUED HER, BUT SHE FLYING TO PRESERV HER CHASITY, WAS CHANGED INTO A LAUREL, WHOSE LEAVES APOLO IMMEDIATELY CONSECRATED TO BIND HIS TEMPLES, AND BECOME THE REWARD OF POETRY.
