  3. 9-2 Translations • Translations – Moves all points of a figure the same distance in the same direction. • Keeps its same size, shape, and orientation. • For every point P(x,y) a translation moves it to P‘(x+a, y+b).

  6. 9-2 Translations • Example: Translate rectangle PQRS 5 units to the right and 4 units down P(-3, 5) Q(-4, 2) R(3, 0) S(4, 3)
