Weekly Goals: • I can discuss what traditional tales tell readers about life. • I can ask questions to check understanding, stay on topic, link others’ comments to the conversation meaningfully. (SL. 3.1.c)
Assessment Goals: • I can choose the correct meaning of a word used in a sentence. (L.3.4) • I can correctly spell and chart silent “kn” and “wr” words. • I can refer to a piece of text to answer comprehension questions. (RL.3.1)
Assessment Goals Continued: • I can identify which sentences use commas correctly. (L.3.2) • I can use my text book to answer questions about specific texts/stories. (RL.3.1)
Daily Goals: Monday • Flex Time Assignment: 4 square (Topic: Which is better Oreos or Chocolate Chip?) • Discuss new spelling words/phonics rule • Read vocabulary cards • Read “The Harvest Birds” • Talk about commas • Talk about opinion writing and BEGIN writing opinion pieces
Daily Goals: Tuesday • Flex Time Assignment: AR Time • Review Monday’s lesson • Read “The Treasure” • Take UNRAAVEL daily grade #2 • Complete 1 rotation of group practice
