L.T.P. Action Plan The current action plan has taken two areas to focus on • To narrow the gap in educational attainment which is a common performance priority for all of the authorities and is the externally facing objective. • To build capacity by the development of the workforce in Children`s Services . This is the inward facing objective and an enabling factor for change

2008/09 was the first year of a bid - the aim was to create a sub regional infrastructure for this work • Narrowing the Gap is one of the MIEP workstreams • There are regular highlight reports and also the budget is monitored quarterly • An overall MIEP Board meets regularly • A new Innovations Bank has been set up A Year 2 submission has now been accepted and is based around delivering joint training and creating networks that build capacity and develop knowledge or research that narrow the gaps in terms of deprivation ,health inequalities ,education, life chances and achievement

Decision to concentrate in the first year on education • % of schools not hitting GCSE floor targets • Impact of deprivation on 5 A*- C GCSE with English and Maths • % of students at 19 not reaching a level 3 qualification • % of students making good progress in any key stage ( 2 levels )
