  1. Story in the rocks ! By: Mady Barga, Jamie Mosely, and Michael Lynn

  2. The Rock Cycle and Rock Types! • The Rock Cycle is a model that describes the formation, break down, and reformation of a rock as a result of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. • A igneous rock is formed above or underground and cooled lava or crystallized. • A sedimentary rock layers of sediment packed together. • A metamorphic rock is formed by heat and pressure then cooled.

  3. Weathering! • Weathering is the breaking down of rock, soil and minerals. • Chemical weathering a change in some minerals in a rock. • Physical Weathering is breaking of the rocks without managing chemical make up of the rock.

  4. Erosion! • Erosion is moving of rock particles. • The main agents of erosion are running water and gravity • Sheet erosion is a very slow acting where a thin film of water transport soil particles by rolling them along the ground

  5. Geologic Time Scale! • A geologic time scale is a system of chronologic measurement relating sratigraphy to time that is used by geologists.

  6. Fossils! • Fossils are any remains or impressions from once living plants and animals found in rocks • Fossils are mainly found sedimentary rocks • They are formed being squished between layers of rock

  7. Superposition! • The general law that states that the youngest layer of sedimentary rock will be on the top and oldest are at the bottom
