  3. OPTN/UNOS 2012 Strategic Goals • Increase the number of transplants • Increase access to transplants • Improve survival for patients post-transplant • Promote transplant patient safety • Promote living donor safety • Promote the efficient management of the OPTN

Finance update • The OPTN contract is funded with OPTN registration fees and federal appropriations • 2015 OPTN budget is $44,523,000. $41,522,000 in OPTN operating funds $ 3,000,000 in federal appropriations $ 1,690,000 to fund OPTN reserves • 2014 OPTN budget was $44,125,000. $41,625,000 in OPTN operating funds $ 2,500,000 in federal appropriations $ 520,000 to fund OPTN reserves

  8. 2015 Budgets (OPTN and UNOS) • Based on 54,500 registrations • Registrations for FY 2015 similar to expected levels for FY 2014 • Kidney registrations – approx. 64% of total registrations • Center behavior after implementation of KAS in December 2104 could affect future registrations.

  9. Funding and Expenses • Overall OPTN and UNOS fees remain unchanged at $957. • OPTN and UNOS Boards approved reserve fees, goals and procedures at the June 2014 meeting. • Expense levels for OPTN and UNOS FY 2015 budgets are very similar to FY 2014 budgets.
