The STAC 2014 Committee is an Evolution of the Superintendent's Technology Advisory Committee • 2014 refers to getting 100% of our students proficient by that date and using technology as a tool to accelerate the learning of all students
Superintendents Created the 2014 Committee for Two Reasons: • To identify and showcase districts, schools, and practitioners who use technology tools to accelerate learning for all students • To use SDCOE services to transform districts through a focus on using technology tools to serve the needs of instruction and learning
The 2014 Committee Has Four Goals: • To help districts accelerate student achievement • To use technology tools and practices • To research successful technologies and practices, explore the use of these tools, and recommend ways to implement them for classroom use by students and teachers for accelerated achievement • To help districts monitor and evaluate the impact of technology tools
Children today have vastly different experiences than we remember from ouryouth
The experience of learning must be rich, complex, varied, differentiated, and connected to the student’s own personal experiences or those they find interesting
