Background • Over the last 2 to 3 years, several key position changes • 1102/1105 buyer FPL consistency • 1102 temporary GS-14’s • GOES-R Assistant Division Chief • OHCM colocated Division position • Additional PM in 210.M • Continuous dialog on what else/what more can we do • This Wednesday we will be posting two ads at the permanent GS-14 operational level • One for “more than one” permanent GS-14 operational • One for a permanent position in 210.S supporting New Business/Future Projects
Requirements for the General GS-14 Position • In addition to the requirements placed on our temporary GS-14’s, these positions require our Senior 1102’s to do even more • Train and mentor new and junior employees • Accept increased responsibilities such as review and approval of procurement related documents and expansion of customer interfaces • Take personal responsibility for the quality of all office procurement products • Assist in developing training tools for office employees • Willingness to move when needed, operational interchangeability is crucial • Additional roles and responsibilities as required by the supervisor • Existing temporary 14’s must apply in order to be converted to permanent position • To be considered for both, employees must apply for both
Requirements for the General GS-14 Position (continued) • Increasing the number of 14’s will not translate into moving full performance specialists automatically up to the 13 level. That distinction will stay in place. • These positions are not interchangeable with Senior Staff or PM positions • We expect to add to our Senior Contracting Officer cadre, but there is no magic number with this ad • These opportunities will be posted more than once, and will depend on the organizational need
