Lessons Learned in the UK • Carry a sturdy mackintosh • Rapidly deepening lows within a large cyclonic circulation can cause ‘relatively’ large fluctuations in air temperature • Wind direction does not change much in these large storms • Remember warm advection (usually over a dome of high pressure) can cause higher precipitation amounts than CAD.
