Causes of Human Trafficking • Gender Imbalance • Boys outnumber girls • Needed for brides and females arise • One-Child Policy • Devised to prevent the growing number of Communists throughout China. • Intended to limit the risk of communist threat, instead of limit the number of members within a family. • Families abided by this law to avoid charges

  4. Why should you care? • Luo Yan Qua tells about how his wife was beaten and how their daughter was feeling her mother’s belly in hopes of becoming a big sister. • Due to the One Child Policy Xiao Ai Ying had to abort her 7 month fetus because she already has a 10 year old daughter.

  5. Why should you care? • A father talks about the quest to find his son and will do anything to get him back. • A mother worries about her child that was taken from her when he was just 5 ½ years old.

  6. Organizations • Help victims with four programs • Ending gendercide • Educating abandoned girls • Rescuing trafficked children • Defending mothers • Global network of organizations working together to try and eliminate the trafficking of children for sexual purposes.

Get Involved • Through All Girls Allowed, supporters are able to sign a petition. • Become an advocate for non-profit organizations • Donate funds or other requested items to organizations that help victims of human trafficking • Spread the word about the dangers of human trafficking and also ways of how to prevent human trafficking

  10. Conclusion • Think about your life now and how different it would be if you were one of these children being abducted and sold. • How would you feel being treated like a product instead of a human? • The world isn’t a market and we are not for sale.
