  2. Introduction We interviewed the Nigerian ladies on the 22nd of may. We all had different subjects that we asked questions about and here are most of the answers that we got. Who did we interviewed • The Nigerian people that we interviewed on the 22nd of may were: • Soetan Stella Oredola Ebunoluwa, Head teacher of Lagos City Senior College • Fasoyiro Florence Iyabowale, Head teacher of- Duro – Oyedoyin Primary School • Akanbi Sherifat Omoniyi, teacher at Lagos City Senior College • Ebire Tolulope Phebiean , teacher at Oyedoyin Primary School

  3. How did we originally link to the schools in Africa? Four years ago Florence and Stella heard about connecting classrooms and went to the British council in Lagos. There they attended a two day seminar and were then linked to our school. They straight away became friends with Miss English (school principal) and Mrs Thomas (ex-Deputy principal). How many children are in your school? How many children are there per class? The primary school has 830 children with a maximum of 30 children per class. The secondary school has 1280 children all together and their biggest class has 88 children and their smallest class has 65 children.

  4. Would you say that your school is bigger or smaller than Waterleat road site? They answered straight away ”Much smaller” Do you get the choice of going to school and do you have to pay to go to school? You have to go to school for at least 9 years and it is free. You would only have to pay for university. Do you have a uniform? What does it look like? The uniform is lilac for boys and all white for the girls. Girls wear dresses and the boys wear shirt and shorts as you can imagine it is extremely hot in Nigeria

  5. What qualifications do the children get after they leave school? The children get a WASC – West African School Certificate. They need this qualification to go to university. Have you got any computers in your schools? They do have some computers. 4 for the teachers and 20 for the children. Only 5 years ago they didn’t have any. Do you enjoy teaching at your schools? They love to work at the schools they are working at now but they are only allowed to teach for 35 years.
