Priasoft Solutions Exchange Migration Success
Key Value Points Business • Simple process. • Most tools are wizards. Little to no training needed. From install to test in 2-hours or less. • Consistent result even if different people execute tasks. • Safe & Predictable • Dry-Run identifies risks and provides opportunity to rectify before it affects the business • Dry-Run gives absolute visibility of duration • Source data unmodified and rollback is possible • Shortened timeline • Investment in Exchange more quickly realized and ROI justified. • Quicker exits from “out-of-support” platforms • Expert Support • Priasoft employs Exchange experts • Priasoft support team can talk beyond tools. • Full Coverage • Exchange is more than email. Priasoft has components for the whole of what is valuable. • Outlook Clients, Distribution Lists, Contacts, Mail-Users, Mailboxes, Public Folders • Rules, Delegates, Send-As, Full-Access (shared mailboxes), OOF, etc.
Key Value Points Technical • Seamless to end users • Leave on Friday • Come in on Monday • Go back to work • Dry-Run identifies mailbox, network, storage, and environmental issues before users experience it • Not a simulation or calculation. Only a real data move can provide true “know before you go” data. • 2-pass model allows for very quick cutover followed by backfill: 30 days now, the rest later • Fastest transfer rates available by migrating multiple mailboxes concurrently • Limited only by environment • Using only MS supported APIs and processes. No hacks. • Easiest user selection and database assignments. Auto-distribute and/or explicit assignments • Per-user logging and multiple levels of detail. Can send logs and status to SharePoint. • Migration batches can survive a power outage: restart will quickly skip over previously copied data
Success Process (Orange = Priasoft) Dry-Run & Pilots Dir-Sync & Profile Updater Batching
Priasoft Core Components Priasoft has coverage for nearly all of the features of Microsoft Exchange that users find important. • Outlook Profile Updater • Updates Outlook Clients • Mailbox Migration Manger • Migrates “batches” of mailboxes • Public Folder Migration Manager • Migrates Selected Public Folders • Priasoft Collaboration Suite • Migrates Contacts and Distribution Lists • Can synchronize changes
Priasoft Specific Technical Highlights • Only Microsoft supported technologies/APIs are used • Mailbox migration is highly efficient by connecting to source AND target mailbox simultaneously • Data copies from source mailbox to target through migration server’s network interface • No double or triple copy of data (i.e. PST files) and no data is “left behind” which means no security risks. • Source mailbox is not modified nor deleted – built in safety net and rollback ability. • Profile updates are done for ALL Outlook profiles, not just the default profile, including secondary mailboxes.
Priasoft Specific Technical Highlights • No additional infrastructure: no SQL, no Agents, no AD Schema changes, no secondary LDAP servers. • Nothing “left behind”: once migration completes, the only thing to “clean up” is to repurpose or power-off the Migration Servers. • All code is owned, designed, and managed by Priasoft. • Priasoft is NOT automating the Microsoft move mailbox tools or PowerShell – our process is our own which means better support, features, flexibility, and performance.
Migration Workshop (Optional) • Priasoft, at request, conducts a 4 day Migration Workshop that focuses on the details of the migration Plan development. • The workshop helps identify obscure and often missed topics during Discovery – both technical AND business. • The workshop is done on-site in order to interact with local resources and environments • The workshop is NOT “product training”, but is migration philosophy, paradigm, and design specific to the environment. • Tools are discussed, but from a direction of “when” and “where” to use them in the Plan.
