What is this workshop about? • Answers: • It’s about you being able to perform your job • It’s not about being an IT technician • It’s not about being a networks systems specialist • It’s about how “YOU” use information technology • It’s about planning for prudent backups so you can do your job if IT is down

  4. Where is your information and what “IT” or communications services do you use everyday? • Desktop / Laptop computers • Networked servers • Onsite • Offsite • Cellular phone • Email • Messaging/chat • Internet • Computer files • Databases • Spreadsheets • Electronic accounting

Continuity of Operations Planning(COOP) • Ultimate Objective • Among other things: • Sustain operations when denied the use of existing resources (like IT networks) so to still perform essential work functions • Planning Timeframes • Before (Preparedness) • During (Implementation) • After (Reconstitution)
